Cheryl completed her law degree in 1993 at the University of Waikato. She has practiced law for 10 years. Prior to obtaining her law degree she was a qualified legal executive.
In her practice as a solicitor, she initially worked for a small law firm and covered many areas of law including criminal, civil, family and commercial. She then moved to a large law firm and specialized in commercial law.
She has also tutored Law Office Practice at WINTEC prior to commencing work with IPLS in January 2006. During her practice as a solicitor, she was a member of the Law Society Law In Schools Programme.
Cheryl enjoys the challenge of eliciting enthusiasm and knowledge from the trainees attending the IPLS course and views the course as an essential part of their legal training.
