Colin commenced sole practice in 1984. His law firm had offices in Wellsford, Mangawhai and Maungaturoto. He was a consultant with the firm from 1995 to 2007. His main area of interest is general legal practice with particular emphasis on commercial and property law. From 1996 to 2004 he was a presenter of the NZLS Entry Level Property Transaction Workshops. From 1997 to 2003 he was a member of the Auckland District Law Society Property Disputes Sub-Committee.

He has been an Instructor with the Institute since 1995. He has a keen interest in training law graduates to acquire skills necessary to effectively advise and represent their clients.
