Patrick began practice with Meredith Connell & Co in Auckland, before working in South Auckland with Field & Co. He then commenced practice as a barrister. He has worked principally in the criminal arena, and also in Family Law and general litigation.

He was a Litigation Instructor at the Auckland branch of IPLS for several years, and then returned to university and completed a BFA at Elam.

After teaching in Wellington for 3 years, Patrick is now working from the Christchurch branch as an instructor. Patrick is also a barrister and continues to paint in his spare time.
