Student Loans and allowances

Both courses (onsite and online) offered by the Institute of Professional Legal Studies qualify for Student Loans and Allowances, except for the online summer schools (intake 10D 2010/11 and intake 11D 2010/11).

Due to the two week Christmas break, intake 10D 2010/2011 and intake 11D 2010/2011 are two weeks longer than the standard intakes, and as such are considered by Studylink to be part time study, and not eligible for Student Allowances and Loan for Living Costs/Course Related Costs. These online summer schools still qualify for Student Loans for payment of the course fee.

If a student needs to be eligible for Student Allowances or Loan for Living Costs/Course Related Costs, he or she should:

  • Choose an intake offered in their location with standard start and finish dates; and
  • Not choose intake 10D 2010/2011 or intake 11D 2010/2011

Please contact us for more information or assistance with non-standard intake dates and eligibility for Student Allowances and Loan for Living Costs.

To apply for student loans and allowances, contact Studylink 0800 88 99 00 or log on to www.studylink.govt.nz
